Meet the VetPharm Team


Denni O. Day

Co-Founder/President/CEO

Denni has more than 25 years of health care experience spanning the fields of clinical nursing, hospital and long-term care administration, management consulting, information systems design and implementation, teaching, and research. She received an undergraduate degree in biology from American University, a nursing degree from Alfred University, and master of science degree in public health from the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill).

Before starting VetPharm, Denni was the chief financial officer of the Clinical Research Institute at the University of Rochester (NY). She also created and directed the Community Research Network, an academic consortium that grew to include more 1,400 private-practice physicians who participate in industry-sponsored clinical trials. Prior to that, Denni served on the faculty of the university’s School of Medicine and Dentistry, and she also was the associate director for administration and finance of the Clinical Trials Coordination Center. In that role, Denni managed two international research consortia which included 350 investigators and coordinators. She also oversaw 40 clinical trials, 125 research accounts, and 65 faculty and staff.

Denni is the author of numerous professional publications. She also is a member of the Animal Health Institute, the Humane Society, the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, the Society of Clinical Research Associates, the Drug Information Association, the American Public Health Association, the American Hospital Association, the Association for Worksite Health Promotion, the American Medical Records Association, the Hospital Information Management and Systems Society, and Sigma Theta Tau (international nursing honor society).

Denni raised Springer spaniels for 25 years and now shares her home with Julie, a rescued Airedale terrier.
 

Patrick B. Niland

Co-Founder/Executive Vice President/CFO

Pat has more than 30 years of diversified finance and management experience. He holds both a BSE in Industrial Engineering and an MBA in Finance (with distinction) from the University of Michigan.

Prior to joining VetPharm, Pat founded and operated First Funding of New York, LLC, a commercial mortgage firm that originated approximately one billion dollars in new financing. Before that, he was a project manager for several real estate organizations, overseeing diversified portfolios of commercial property nationwide. Earlier in his career, Pat was a financial analyst in the Treasurers Department of Exxon Corporation and a member of the team that financed the TransAlaska Pipeline.

Pat grew up with a small zoo of animals and now spends most of his free time trying to keep his rescued Airedale, Bowser, out of the refrigerator, pantry, laundry hamper, trash cans…
 

Thomas J. McGrath

Managing Director, Sales

Tom supports all of VetPharm’s client relationships.  He has more than 30 years of global sales and marketing experience, with a special focus on building long-term strategic partnerships through outsourcing.   Before joining VetPharm, Tom was a senior marketing executive with two business process outsourcing firms, Sutherland Global Services and eTelecare International.  Prior to that, Tom worked for Magnitude Software Systems, an ergonomic software company.

Tom has an undergraduate degree in business administration from St. John Fisher College and an MBA in finance and management from Fordham University. 

Tom, his wife, and their two children share their home with their second rescue dog, Bandit, a Springer Spaniel mix.  
 

B. Dianne Nash

Operations Support Manager

Before joining VetPharm, Dianne spent 17 years as a legal assistant, most recently in the North Carolina Department of Justice. Earlier in her career, she worked in advertising, the travel industry, and financial services. Before that Dianne served in the United States Army in Europe.

At VetPharm, Dianne provides a wide range of support to the other members of our team, including all of our investigators and monitors in the field. Her help keeps all of us on schedule.


Jodi L. DiSchino

Office Manager

Jodi brings many skills and a diverse perspective to her role at VetPharm. She studied business management and has more than twelve years of experience in office administration, customer service, human resources, and payroll management. Jodi’s primary responsibilities at VetPharm are accounting, human resources, and office management.

Jodi, an avid dog lover, has owned several different breeds over the years. Right now, she has two Lhasa Apso puppies named Rusty and Bella.


Robert E. Dickerson

Project Leader

Rob began his clinical trials career at ACM Pivotal Global Central Laboratory in Rochester (NY). He quickly learned the requirements of the pharmaceutical research industry and was promoted from research associate to project manager. In that role, Rob oversaw national and international human clinical trials.

Rob came to VetPharm in 2008 and, since then, has bolstered our ability to honor our promise of “better data…quicker!”

Rob and his family enjoy playing with their yellow Labrador Retriever, Elisha.
 

Rafaela Vazquez

Data Manager

Rafaela brings over 20 years of experience in clinical trials for both device and pharmaceuticals.  Among her many roles, she has done in-house monitoring as well as being a field-based Clinical Research Associate (CRA).  Rafaela has three grown children as well as three wonderful grandchildren.  She has many hobbies, including cooking, sewing, pottery, photography, and she is a designer and maker of porcelain dolls!  

Rafaela also enjoys being the proud parent of a 4-year old Dachshund named Abby.
